It seems like there’s always a party going on in Venice Beach. Actually, there probably is a party always going on at Venice Beach. Either way, there are few better places to experience both LA and the Fourth of July.
All of Venice’s iconic haunts will be even more energy-filled than usual, so make sure to block out an entire day to explore the city!

Things to do in Venice Beach for 4th of July
Electric Light Parades
Only in Venice Beach will you see the Electric Light Parades. Typically put on every Sunday, the group is doing a special ride on the Fourth of July to commemorate the holiday.
The parade starts at 8:00 PM, and they ask everyone to wear festive clothing—and their helmets, of course. Head down to the parade and watch as brightly lit bike wheels go past you as the cyclists head on over to Marina del Rey.
Mr. and Mrs. Muscle Beach
Visit the iconic Muscle Beach and see who will be crowned the next Mr. and Mrs. Muscle Beach! Athletes and models will compete in categories like physique, bikini, vintage swimsuit, and more.
If you want to compete, sign up is the morning of the fourth from 7:00 AM to 9:30 AM. Don’t feel like posing in front of strangers? If you just want to watch, the final, exciting show starts at 1:00 PM.
South Jetty (Venice Pier) Fireworks Show
The City of Venice will be putting on a firework show on the Fourth of July starting around 9:00 PM from the South Jetty! The show will last about 30 minutes and is free to attend.
The South Jetty and Jetty Jacks Refreshment Stands won’t be open during the show for safety reasons. But, you can easily view the fireworks from other parts of Venice, like on local city beaches from Nokomis to Caspersen or at outdoor restaurants and bars.
If you want to watch the show from your boat (we get it, you’re cool), you must anchor up by 8:15 PM. The Venice inlet will be shut down from 8:30 PM until 45 minutes after the show is over for safety reasons.
