Frog Pond Wetland Preserve

You won’t have to go far from Seaside’s sunlit cityscape to enjoy a great light walk on the ¾ mile hiking trail of Seaside. This heavily wooded landscape offers a peaceful walk encircling a pond. The path can grow narrow at times, but it’s perfect for walking your dog(s).

This short loop is tucked away in rolling groves of redwoods and is great for catching a serene view of the ducks enjoying natural life. Feel free to bring some alimentary items while you discover what natural life has to offer. 

The World Theatre

This quaint theater setting is a venue for the performance highlights of not only thespians but also world-class lecturers, jazz musicians, filmmakers, and dancers alike. As theatrical events go into intermission, guests can hang out in the nice-sized lobby area or take a step outside.

This theater is a part of the CSUMB (California State University Monterey Bay) campus. They also host events like karaoke sessions, contemporary dance company performances, and shows by the skilled monarchs of R&B. 

Bayonet Black Horse Golf Course

This lengthy and challenging golf course is considered to be one of Seaside’s best kept secrets, offering one of the favorite Seaside CA activities to spend a pleasant day in the open. The push-operated merry-go-round is certainly a crowd favorite, and parents will get a great workout in the process. It’s also located conveniently next to a skate park and a pond with rental boats. You can also try fishing off of the public pier on El Estero Lake. 

Monterey Bay Aquarium

Although it’s not located in Seaside CA, Monterey Bay Aquarium is only a short trip away from Seaside and is well worth it. Explore the ancient habitats of jellyfish, sea otters, penguins, and more. Seaside Beach

The Point Lobos State Natural Reserve

Full of fauna of both land and sea, and outstanding geological formations, the Point Lobos State Natural Reserve reflects the glory of nature where offshore rocks meet the coast. Stop off at the cabin, once built and maintained by Chinese fisherman.

Considered to be “the crown jewel of the State Park System”, Point Lobos is perfect for divers desiring to explore some of the most abundant natural habitats. Seals, sea lions, and migrating gray whales can be spotted here. It’s also very welcoming to those on-foot, because the plant communities are full of some rare beauties, and it’s a peaceful spot for picnicking, studying, and jogging.
