Nothing is better than taking the entire family out for a day on the farm. The Bay Area is filled with fabulous u-pick farms where you can choose from strawberries, cherries, lavender, and more. Heading to a u-pick farm is a great way to get the entire family outdoors, active, and involved in gathering their food to enjoy later in the day.

Boring Farm

There is nothing boring about heading into Boring Farm. You have the opportunity to pick your own raspberries every Saturday. Besides delicious raspberries begging to head home, you can have fun grabbing their own chicken eggs and the goodies they sell like jam and popsicles.
Duckworth Family Farm

Blueberry lovers will have a phenomenal time over at Duckworth Family Farm. This certified organic farm has a little bit of everything for the family. They welcome everyone to sit by the pond and enjoy a picnic and have homemade blueberry ice cream when they’re not busy picking berries.
Earthseed Farm

Earthseed Farm has a little bit of everything when it comes to u-picking. You can grab apples, pears, persimmons, plums, guavas, and mixed berries throughout the year. They also sell popsicles in a variety of flavors from their own crops. A $25/ group reservation fee allows you a 60-minute u-pick fun. Their hours are 11 am to 3 pm, and they ask you to bring your own containers.
Blue House Farm

Grab a box and have a great time picking strawberries with the entire family. The farm has signs you can follow for u-picking, and they ask that you gently pick the strawberries and stay on the path to avoid any damage to the farm. During the fall, they also have a pumpkin patch for the kids to have fun in. Blue House Farm is open Saturday and Sunday from 12 pm to 5 pm.
Chileno Valley Ranch

Fall is the perfect time to visit Chileno Valley Ranch. They offer apple picking in their orchards with a variety of apples like Orin, Pinova, Candy Crisp, and Jonagold. Apple picking begins in September, requiring reservations to head to the farm. It’s $10 per family to book a reservation online, and apples are $2/pound. Picking begins at 9 am and goes until 1 pm through October.
Skyline Chestnuts

Get in the festive mood with u-pick chestnuts. The season starts in late October and runs through the winter, where your entire family can have seasonal fun. Their parking is limited, so make sure to make a reservation online. Your whole family will love wandering through this 20-acre orchard sitting above the Santa Cruz area.
Coastways Ranch

Sitting right along the PCH is Coastways Ranch, an excellent destination for u-pick strawberries. When strawberries aren’t in season, you can still visit the ranch and grab artichokes, pumpkins, and kiwis to take home with you.
Webb Ranch
- Address: 2720 Alpine Rd, Portola Valley CA
Webb Ranch is great for grabbing u-pick blackberries and raspberries. Their u-pick farm is by appointment only, and there is a $4/person entrance fee. All their berries are CCOF organic and open Tuesday through Saturday, 8 am to 1 pm.
